Dr. Mohamed Barakat ( MD, MRCP (UK)) is Oman International Hospital’s Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist Heart and Vascular Centre of Excellence.

Dr. Barakat has vast experience in non-invasive cardiology including clinic, referral consults, CCU, TMT, and Holter. He has broad experience in managing acute emergencies like acute coronary syndrome, STEMI, NONSTEMI, Unstable angina, acute heart failure, and cardiogenic shock. Extensive experience in performing diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention including primary PCI and complex PCI. Vast experience in structural heart disease intervention like balloon valvuloplasty and TAVI. He is a member of Oman & Gulf heart associations.

Dr. Barakat has performed more 4000 diagnostic coronary angiograms and 2000 angioplasties/stenting. He graduated from Sultan Qaboos University, in 1996. He completed his post graduate fellowship training in non-invasive and Interventional cardiology at (UBC) University Of British Colombia 2005-2010.

He is also working as Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at National Heart Center, Royal Hospital, Muscat for Past 11 years.
