Dr. Mohamed Barakat (MD, MRCP (UK)), Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist Heart and Vascular Centre of Excellence.
Dr. Barakat has vast experience in non-invasive cardiology including clinic, referral consults, CCU, TMT, and Holter. He has broad experience in managing acute emergencies like acute coronary syndrome, STEMI, NONSTEMI, Unstable angina, acute heart failure, and cardiogenic shock. Extensive experience in performing diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention including primary PCI and complex PCI. Vast experience in structural heart disease intervention like balloon valvuloplasty and TAVI. He is a member of the Oman & Gulf heart Association.
Dr. Barakat has performed more than 4000 diagnostic coronary angiograms and 2000 angioplasties/stenting. He is also working as a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at National Heart Center, Royal Hospital, Muscat for Past 11 years.
