Dr. Raad Mehdi

Senior Consultant, General Surgeon.

جراح خبير في (الجراحة عامة، جراحة الجهاز الهضمي العلوي وجراحة السمنة).
Graduated (Honours) from Baghdad University with early training in major Medical centers in Iraq.
Has wide international experience in Surgery – Iraq, Southeast Asia (Malaysia and Singapore), Australia, and Oman. He holds a Master’s in Clinical Immunology as well as being a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Australasia, and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He has advanced training in Laparoscopy in Australia with two Fellowships (Upper GI, Bariatric, and Hepatobiliary).
Was Head of the Department – of General Surgery at the Royal Hospital in Muscat, followed by establishing and being head of the Upper GI and Bariatric unit for nine years.
Was the Assistant Program Director for the Omani Surgical Specialities Board and an Associate Professor at the James Cook University in Queensland in Australia.
شغل منصب رئيس قسم الجراحة العامة بالمستشفى السلطاني بمسقط، ثم قام بإنشاء ورئاسة وحدة الجهاز الهضمي العلوي والسمنة لمدة تسع سنوات.
شغل سابقًا كل من منصب مدير البرنامج المساعد لمجلس التخصصات الجراحية العُمانية، وأستاذًا مشاركًا في جامعة جيمس كوك في كوينزلاند في أستراليا. الدكتور رعد المهدي عضو مؤسس ورئيس سابق للمجموعة العمانية للسمنة وجراحة الأيض وعضو مؤسس لجمعية الخليج لجراحة السمنة. وقد ألقى محاضرات ونشر مقالات على نطاق واسع بالإضافة إلى كونه حاليًا عضو تحرير في المجلات الطبية الدولية (Hernia, AJS, AJSES, Obesity surg). وهو أيضًا عضو نشط في أكاديمية الطب في ماليزيا وفي الجمعيات الجراحية الإقليمية والدولية (مثل EAES وIGCA وIFSO وANZGOSA وELSA وICS)
